Hoover Road proposal includes housing, retail, offices

Hoover Road Proposal – An application has been submitted to the City of Grove City to develop a 32-acre property on Hoover Road. The project, that is in the administrative review stage, is called Bluegrass Park.

BBR Ventures, LLC, has submitted an application for the project to the City of Grove City stating that they intend to develop a property that is currently owned by The Buckeye Ranch Foundation, Inc.. The property boarders the retail center anchored by Kroger on its south end and Marzetti’s distribution facility to the west.

As many as 480 residential units could be built which would include multi-family units and senior housing units. Also included in the plan is a daycare, medical office buildings, and retail or restaurant space.  

Residents at the projected $60 million project will get to enjoy a community garden, dog park and significant green space. The project also includes a bike path that connects to the current bike path in the area.

The submitted construction timeline schedule begins with land development at the end of 2019. Building construction would begin in mid-2020, with the ten initial residential units, day care and office space is projected to be complete by mid-2021. The senior housing would be completed at the beginning of 2022.

This is just an initial plan and changes are likely. Now that the plan is submitted, it must be reviewed by the Development administration, pass through the Planning Commission and finally be approved by City Council.
