Detail on the I-270 crash that killed one, injured five

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deadly crash that killed one and injured five on I-270 in southeast Columbus.

A dump truck driven by Charles Reichard, 56, was traveling westbound on I-270 around 2:30 p.m. when the driver side front tire blew apart, which caused the vehicle to lose control, cross the median and into the eastbound lanes.

Rennu and her passengers in the Camry, Dushant Lohano, Kabir Bhagwan, and Alisha Bhanani were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and are in stable condition.

The driver of the Ford, Daniels was uninjured.
