Susan Stahl, has entered a Not Guilty plea in the Pickaway County Court of Common Pleas on Wednesday for the murder of an Orient woman.
Stahl, who was charged with the June 23, murder of 82-year-old Joyce Kaelbli of Orient, Ohio, appeared in the court located in Circleville, Ohio, and had her bond set at $250,000 by Judge P. Randall Kneece.
Anthony Martin, who was charged with obstructing justice in the case, had his bond set at $25,000.
The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office responded to a potential home invasion call on Ballah Road in Orient near Harrisburg Pike on June 23. Sheriff Robert Radcliff said that Joyce Kaelbli was found dead in the home by he me son and had wounds that appear to be from defending herself.
Radcliff filed for two warrants on July 19, in regards to the case. The two suspects are Susan Stahl, 35, and Anthony Martin, 30. Stahl was charged with aggravated burglary and murder and Martin with obstructing justice.
Radcliff reported that Stahl is an ex-girlfriend to Kaelbli’s son.
The two were located near San Diego, CA, and were apprehended at the United States-Mexico border by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 24, four days after extradition hearings, Radcliff, two detectives and a deputy brought the two individuals to Pickaway County to face the charges.
